Visiting the market of Mijas isn't only about sightseeing and enjoying the atmosphere,  you can also find excellent bargains here. The markets always take place in the morning, until about 2 o' clock in the afternoon.

Almost every day many market stalls flock together and offer their merchandise in Mijas. The largest is on Wednesday and Saturday in La Cala. Here you will find vegetables, fruit, flowers, souvenirs, clothing, shoes and all kinds of knick-knacks. You can take the bus to La Cala or take the La Cala exit on the A7. You can already see the market of the motorway.

On Thursday there is the market in Calahonda and Las Lagunas keeps it on Saturday. In Calahonda you also have a flea market on Sunday with second hand stuff and associations that have a stand to put some extra money in the load. This market is not extensive, for a larger choice of second hand stuff you can best go on Sunday morning to 'Hipodromo' near Fuengirola. On the Hipodromo there is a large parking lot and is very easy to reach.

Tuesday morning you can go to Fuengirola for the best bargains. On the large parking lot of Los Boliches, near the river bed, the stands are set up early in the morning. A cafeteria at the entrance with 'live music' listens to the whole. The merchants usually post their prices. If this is not the case, you can probably place on the merchandise. Extermination is not really a must and you will only receive an enormous reduction after a long negotiation.

Take your time and view the different positions, compare and then make your choice. Remember, it is not always gold that shines! This market is excellent place for shopping near Mijas with many bargains, summer clothing, a nice souvenir of your holiday or a unique gadget that you can surprise your friends or family at home. During the summer months this market is very busy and not recommended with small children or dogs. Parking is scarce on this Tuesday morning, the bus or the taxi is an easier way to get here.
