For a nice trip of horseback riding in Mijas, El Jinete offers excursions from 1 to 4 hours in the nature. You will visit the avocado-, olive tree farms and see the golf courses from another angle. El Jinete, about 5 minutes from La Cala has lessons for all ages and all levels. The Ponyclub is a possibility for the youngest of the family. During the activities of the ponyclub, the kids get a lesson in horseback riding but also learn more about the care and cleaning of the pony. Games and quizzes keep it very amusing for them. This activity is popular so needs to be booked in advance.

Another Ranch that offers horseback riding in Mijas is Finca Alegria. This finca run by a English family organizes group and private lessons. They are located a bit further in Torreblanca, about 15 minutesfrom Mijas.
